Macau gaming sector receipts slide 2.8 percent in 2019


The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) issued its gaming sector survey for 2019 finding that the nine entities engaging in local gaming activities saw their total receipts slide by 2.8 percent to just under MOP296.1 billion (US$38.5 billion). Gaming receipts fell 3.5 percent to MOP 292.3 billion.

The total expenditure of the gaming sector dropped by 6.7 percent year-on-year to MOP117.8 billion.

Meanwhile, operating expenses grew to MOP31.9 billion, up 1.8 percent, driven mainly by management services and contractual services.

Compensation to employees amounted to MOP22.53 billion, an increase of 0.7 percent year-on-year.
