SkyCity anticipates Auckland reopening on August 31

SkyCity Entertainment Group issued a statement on Wednesday morning announcing that it anticipated being able to reopen its Auckland property to the public on August 31.

The reappearance of Covid-19 infection in New Zealand forced a return to an emergency shutdown. So long as there isn’t a major flare up of new infections in the coming days, Auckland is expected to shift from Alert Level 3 to Alert Level 2 at midnight on August 30, allowing the return to business.

SkyCity’s Hamilton and Queenstown properties have remained open throughout the latest wave of the pandemic.

Physical distancing and other countermeasures will remain in force at all of SkyCity’s facilities.
