Alliance Global aims for Manila blueprint by mid 2017

Alliance Global, which is working with Malaysia’s Genting Group to build a second property in Manila, says it expects to finalize the blueprint for the resort by June next year.

“The master plan would be finished maybe by the first half of next year,” local media cited AGI President and Chief Operating Officer Kingson U. Sian as saying after an annual stockholders’ meeting on Sept. 29.

The companies are developing a 31-hectare site to be known as Westside City.

AGI, in partnership with Malaysia’s Genting Group, is developing 31 hectares of the state-owned Entertainment City in Parañaque into a leisure and entertainment township called Westside City.

The two companies currently own the Resorts World Manila property in Manila in Pasay City. Alliance Global said the target for completion of Westside City is the final quarter of 2020.

The resort would be the fourth and final to open in Manila’s Entertainment City. Bloomberry Resorts opened its Solaire Hotel & Casino in 2013, while Melco Crown Entertainment’s City of Dreams Manila launched in early 2015. Japan’s Universal's resort, backed by billionaire Kazuo Okada, is scheduled to open late this year. The resort will bear Mr Okada’s name.
