Alter Casino Group gets go-ahead to operate Tinian casino

The Tinian casino Gaming Control Commission has approved Alter Casino Group’s applications for a conditional license to operate a casino facility in Tinian, according to the Marianas Variety.

The commission, chaired by Esther Barr, said the conditional license will allow ACG to move forward with building the casino facility at the proposed site in Tinian.

Tinian Mayor Joey San Nicolas said he was pleased with the result, adding that the economy of Tinian has been badly affected by the temporary closure of Tinian Dynasty, and now looks forward to the approval of ACG’s application so Tinian can benefit from the new investment opportunity.

However, former commission executive director Lucy Maratita-Blanco said the commission must ensure that the investor is capable of sustaining the operation of its casino, so that Tinian will not be in a situation again in which an investor is a non-compliant licensee.

Ken Lin, managing director of Alter Casino Group said they are confident that they will meet all the other requirements, and are ready to move forward with phase 1 of the project.
