Angela Leong eyes 2- to 3-year extension of Macau Canidrome contract

The Macau government said it will extend the Canidrome concession contract with a shorter term at the end of the year when the current contract expires, TDM Macau reported.

The managing director of the Canidrome, Angela Leong, says the government is still discussing the length of the contract, but she hopes that it will be two to three years.

“We haven't had a definite length of the contract extension. I think it should be at least two to three years. Some of the staff members are over 60 years old. What jobs can they have then? This is a problem of manpower. We have also drafted several plans, and hope the government and Canidrome management may consider making the Canidrome a place for family fun,” Leong said.

She suggested making the Canidrome a place for sports and social community activities, as well as supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and cultural industry.
