Aquis appoints former Jupiters MD as consultant

Gaming group Aquis announced it has appointed former Jupiters Hotel and Casino managing director Aaron Gomes as a senior consultant for new projects.

Gomes was managing director of Jupiters from October 2012 to June 2014, responsible for all operations of the property, including overseeing more than 2,000 employees and planning for a $400 million capital redevelopment plan, Aquis said.

Gomes joins the group as it looks to progress its integrated resort project at Yorkeys Knob in Far North Queensland and secure a separate license as part of redevelopment plans for the Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast.

Aquis, which acquired Casino Canberra in December 2014, is also working towards listing on the Australian Stock Exchange under the name Aquis Entertainment Group.

Mr Gomes will work with the existing Aquis team including CEO Justin Fung and Aquis Entertainment Group CEO Geoff Andres.
