Aristocrat saw strong growth from US and ANZ business in FY18

Australian slot supplier Aristocrat Technologies reported a 44.7 percent rise in revenue for the year ended September 30, 2018, driven by record results from its North America and ANZ markets.

Reported net profit after tax amortization (NPATA) reached A$655.3 million, up 20.6 percent. Normalized NPATA was up 34 percent to $730 million in the financial year.

Aristocrat said it saw record results from its America’s business, with earnings up 16 percent year-on-year. The company noted growth in gaming operations combined with strong ship share levels - a term given to the measure of its games’ popularity compared to the games of other slot manufacturers.

The company said it also maintained leading market share across ANZ and APAC.

Profit from ANZ was up 8.9 percent, however, profit from its international segment fell 10.9 percent. Aristocrat said lower revenue and profit from its international segment was due to prior year new casino openings.

The company also reported a huge jump in earnings from its Digital business, up 244.7 percent to US$330.8 million.

Looking at the 2019 fiscal year, Aristocrat says it expects incremental gains in attractive North American adjacencies, expansion in its land-based gaming operations, and further growth in its digital segment.

FY19 earnings are expected to be skewed to the second half, reflecting the timing of digital game releases and corresponding user acquisition investment, said the company.
