Aristocrat’s profits rise on investments in new game development


In its annual report for the 12 months ended 30 September 2013, Aristocrat Leisure Ltd reported that net profit after tax and non-controlling interest of $107.2 million, an increase of 16.9 percent compared with end September 2012. Fewer game releases in Japan affected group revenue, which as down 3.5 percent, while reported EBIT was up by 4 percent.  The group said it had invested heavily in creative and technical talent to accelerate game development and enable penetration in new game segments.  It entered the digital market with the acquisition of social gaming company Product Madness, and successfully deployed content in the European online wagering market.
