Australasian Gaming Expo named finalist in exhibition awards

The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) yesterday announced the 2017 Australasian Gaming Expo as a finalist in its premier annual awards.

Following a competitive assessment process, the Australasian Gaming Expo is a finalist in the Best Industry Association Event category, the finalists being shortlisted by an esteemed panel of 39 international and national judges.

EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio, acknowledged the high calibre of entries and commended the finalists on their achievements. “This is a distinguished shortlist that has met high standards of excellence as decided by some of the most reputable global and national leaders of our industry,” Ms DiMascio said.

This nomination reflects the research results from independent Exhibition Researcher’s Explori; “When compared to over 1,000 other trade shows globally, the Australasian Gaming Expo is in the top 15 percent for delivering high visitor and exhibitor satisfaction“, said Rory Govan , an Associate Director of Research.

Nominees in the Best Industry Association category will undergo a second round of judging to determine the category winner for 2017, which will be announced at a gala dinner in Melbourne on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

The Australasian Gaming Expo is billed as the largest Hospitality Expo in the Southern Hemisphere filling over 19,000sq metres of the new ICC Sydney, with space for 250 exhibitors. The 2017 Expo saw a 19 percent increase in visitors over the previous year, a record that the organisers are keen to replicate for the 2018 event.

The 2018 exhibition is scheduled for August 14-16.
