Michael William Laiman, the former manager of the Legends Sports Bar in Whangarei, was convicted of theft by a person in a special relationship for using weekly gaming machine proceeds of NZ$3,433 ($2,768) to pay his own bills
Laiman was supposed to deposit the money into Lion Foundation’s bank account. Laiman, who had pleaded not guilty, was fined NZ$1,000.
