Bloomberry Foundation, PAGCOR complete quarantine facilities

Bloomberry Foundation and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp said they have completed the capital region’s largest quarantine facility for Covid-19 patients.

The 600-bed unit has now been handed over to the Integrated Agency Task Force, which is coordinating efforts to combat the pandemic.

The Bloomberry Foundation is the Solaire Resort & Casino’s corporate social responsibility arm.

Patients who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms will be housed in eight air conditioned tents with 75 beds per tent. It is intended mainly for patients who cannot quarantine themselves at home effectively. Each patient gets his own private and enclosed cubicle with a bed, desk, chair and outlets.

A separate tent houses a clinic for patients whose symptoms progress. The clinic is designed to stabilize a patient for transport to a hospital should his symptoms worsen.

Aside from this mega facility, BCFI has also supported the retrofitting of quarantine facilities at the Philippine General Hospital, Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Philippines has been the worst-hit country in Southeast Asia, with 309,000 confirmed cases as of Tuesday and 5,448 deaths.
