Caesars scouts Gold Coast IR opportunity


US-based casino operator, Caesars Entertainment is reportedly eyeing up the Gold Coast for its first venture in Australia.

According to reports from the Gold Coast Bulletin, Caesar’s president of international development Steven Tight took a trip to the Gold Coast last month, meeting with Gold Coast Tourism chairman Paul Donovan.

Speaking to Gold Coast Bulletin, Mr. Tight confirmed his visit to Queensland, noting the company was currently conducting an “internal feasibility study on whether another large-scale integrated resort could be supported in the Gold Coast market.”

Mr. Tight said he hoped to have a better idea of the city’s potential for a Caesars property later next month once more of the study was done.

“It would be Caesars’ first property in Australia,” he said.
