Cambodia lists casino licence, other fees

In an effort to improve transparency and facilitate European and US companies to do business in the country, the Finance Ministry has publicly issued a list showing the costs of fees that businesses must pay to authorities for various services.  The list of fees covers 134 payments businesses often made to the ministry’s departments of customs and taxation - two bodies that investors have long cited as problematic due to their high levels of graft.  For reference casino licenses issued by the Ministry of Finance cost USD $30,000 a year. The Asian Development Bank noted in a report last year that Anticorruption legislation had not yet achieved significant results and that corruption remains “significant and difficult to mitigate in the short term.”
