Canberra Casino may soon be allowed to install 60 fully-automated table games and 200 slot machines under new legislation proposed by the ACT government on Thursday.
Gamblers playing at the casino’s slot machines will be required to set a maximum limit they are prepared to lose over 24 hours, representing the first mandatory pre commitment scheme in the country.
They will also be limited to $5 maximum bet on the slot machines, compared to the $10 limit allowed in the state’s clubs.
The slot machines will have to be bought from the state’s clubs, and is estimated to cost around A$6 million.
