The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) says it has been approached several times this year by gaming employees who are seeking for gaming operators to adjust their salaries and to increase their benefits. The Bureau's deputy director Teng Nga Kan said that if any gaming operator violates the Labour Relations Act they will launch an investigation, but so far she says the bureau hasn't found any cases. Local media reported Ms. Teng as saying: “We haven't found any violation of the Labour Relations Act. Our major duty is to oversee the implementation of the law, and of course if we find something we will launch probes. However if there is something other than what's stated in the Labour Relations Act, then we would suggest employees and employers to talk and solve the problem together”. She added that the number of labour disputes remains the same as in the past two to three years and that there is no need to add manpower to strengthen supervision at this stage.
