China Star expects profit to rise 42 to 50 percent

China Star Entertainment Ltd., an investment holding company engaged in hotel and gaming services, announced that profit for the six months ended 30 June 2015 is expected to increase by approximately 42 percent to 50 percent.

The increase compares to profit of HK$115.1 million in the six months of 2014, the company said in a filing.

The increase is mainly attributable to, among other things, revenue of approximately HK$27 million from the prior corresponding period which included an increase in interest income.

However, the company said the profit increase was partially offset by a 16 percent to 20 percent decrease in gross profit.
