Chinese backed consortium shortlisted to build on Gold Coast

 

A consortium led by ASX-listed ASF Group, backed by a number of Chinese construction firms, is one of four companies shortlisted to build a multibillion dollar casino, hotel and cruise ship terminal complex on Queensland’s Gold Coast after the government invited submissions of interest from the private sector to build new tourism infrastructure in the area.  New Zealand-based SkyCity Entertainment was one of the other companies shortlisted, but Australian casino operators Crown and Echo Entertainment, which holds the license for the only other casino on the Gold Coast, were not included.
