Chinese customs officers bust Korean man carrying HKD 7 million


Customs officials at the Gongbei port in Zhuhai, China, confiscated HKD7 million from a Korean man claiming he had won the money, along with an extra HKD6 million, in a Macau casino.

According to Chinese language source Sina News, customs officer Wan Xuelin said a man with large black backpack entered the customs zone at around 11:00 a.m. When he was asked to open his bag, the officers found 70 stacks of cash, each containing HKD100,000 .

The man claimed that he had won HKD13 million at a Macau casino and that he was planning to deposit the seven million he had on him in his bank when he got home, adding that he failed to declare the money due to being unfamiliar with the customs procedures.
