A Chinese national wanted for pyramid investment scams and illegal gambling in China was arrested in Manila's Chinatown district last Sunday. The 26 year old man, Zhang Fuhui, had a warrant out for his arrest by police in Huai An City in Jiangsu province for allegedly running an online pyramid firm called Bao Ma and later an online gambling website
which conned more than 4,000 gamblers into betting more than 61 million yuan (US$10 million). The scammers got more than RMB 6.3 million (US$1 million) in profit from the gambling website. Two other men were arrested with Zhang after they failed to present proper travel documents. Zhang will be deported according to a Chinese embassy request once the Bureau of Immigration secures the required clearances for his deportation. Zhang will not be allowed to return to the Philippines as he is now on the immigration blacklist.
