Clarion eyes more local supply chain involvement for JGC

Clarion Gaming is evaluating changes to the format of its Japan Gaming Congress as the development of integrated resorts in the country gathers steam, with a view to garnering more involvement from local suppliers and industries.

“We are just working out now strategically how we develop all of our content from a pan-Asian point of view,” stated Sadie Walters, Clarion Gaming’s head of production. “What we would like to grow with this event now with our local partners is the peripheral industries around the integrated resort market. So obviously for four years now we’ve reached the peak. But I think going forward what we need to do is to start involving the supply chain of the integrated resort market,” she added.

However, the basic format might remain similar in future years. “Given the mixture of the international and local market, it makes sense to have a one-track format to be able to represent all of the information in an understandable way given all the different languages,” she said.

Darren Wright, event manager of Clarion Gaming, added “We will continue what we’ve built up here.”

The event, held earlier this month in Tokyo attracted about 350 delegates, down from 475 last year.
