Court exempts gambler from money lending loan

The Seoul District Court has reportedly rejected a bid by a money lender to recover some 11 million won ($10,560) lent to a gambler at Kangwon Land Casino. The presiding judge ruled that money lenders’ loans, which have abnormally high interest rates, promote gambling and cause social problems. As a result, he said they didn’t have to be protected by law, according to the reports.
