Crown company secretary steps down

Casino operator Crown Resorts Ltd. on Friday announced the stepping down of company secretary Michael Neilson.

Mary Manos will continue to act as company secretary and will also become General Counsel, while Neilson will remain with the Crown Group for a “transitional period”, noted the operator in an ASX filing on Friday.

According to Crown Resorts chairman, John Alexander, Neilson had been with Crown for 13 years, and played a key role in managing the legal, compliance and regulatory functions across the group in a number of jurisdictions.

On the same filing, Crown also noted the resignation of Ben Brazil as chair of the Audit and Corporate Governance Committee on April 12, 2017 - who was replaced by Helen Coonan.

Coonan has served as the Minister for Revenue and Assistant Treasurer and had portfolio oversight of the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.
