Crown confers with Sri Lankan officials

 

Rowen Craigie, chief executive of Crown Ltd., and his chief financial officer Ken Barton met with Sarath Amunugama, deputy minister of finance, to discuss the company's planned $400 million joint venture casino hotel in Colombo.

The move came as Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, urban development ministry secretary and a brother of the president, told the Sri Lanka's Sunday Times he had asked Ravi Wijeratne, chairman of Rank Holding (Pvt.) Ltd., Crown's partner, to move the planned hotel down the street from the site another department had approved or change the design from one tower to two shorter ones to avoid obstructing views of Beira Lake.
