Delhi chief minister vows to end casinos in Goa

Populist Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has vowed to stop casinos in Goa, according to a video message to voters posted on Sunday.

“Everyone in Goa wants casinos to shut shop. Both the BJP and the Congress could not do it because leaders from both parties are tied up with the casino lobby. Only the AAP can stop casinos. It can stop the ruin of Goan culture,” Kejriwal said.

The chief minister made the comments as part of a 17-minute message to Goan voters while making a pitch for votes for his party in the upcoming 2017 assembly elections.

Kejriwal said the BJP had let down the state.

“Everyone should vote for AAP and those who vote for BJP, I want to ask them: Has the BJP given you anything?”

“BJP gave you only corruption and communalism. So those who vote for the BJP, please do not vote for them.

“After five years, everyone in Goa says we were cheated (again). BJP turned out to be doubly corrupt than the Congress and (Manohar) Parrikar betrayed the people,” he said.
