Delta Corp records strong first quarter

Delta Corp has registered its best-ever quarter in 16Q1, posting revenue of Rs 108.6 crore (US$16.3 million), up 34.6 percent compared to 15Q1.

According to a press release from the company, net profit after tax in the quarter ended June 30, 2016 was Rs 20 crore, compared to a loss of Rs 99.7 lakh in 15Q1.

The company said the positive results were attributed to better targeted marketing, resulting in stable income flow; increasing customer numbers; and more stable patronage from customers in Goa, which has “become a year-round destination rather than seasonal.”

“The results are a source of great encouragement and stand testimony to the efforts and ingenuity of the Delta Corp team,” said Delta Corp chairman Jaydev Mody. “Our businesses are gaining a strong foothold. The income streams are steady and bound to translate into greater revenue and growth in the months to come. We are confident that this momentum will continue.”

Delta Corp currently holds three of the six offshore gaming licenses in Goa, and has an integrated resort in Daman. The company also operates three luxury hotel properties in Goa, Deltin Suites, Deltin Palms and Villa Marina by Deltin.
