Donaco International H1 revenue doubles on Vietnam casino

Donaco International said its first-half operating revenue has doubled, boosted mainly by a gain in VIP business at its flagship Lao Cai International Hotel in Vietnam. Revenue in the six months to end December was $12.57 million, with VIP turnover at Lao Cai gaining 44 percent. The company attributed the Vietnam gain to success in its junket market program. Group adjusted profit after tax gained 21 percent to $2.95 million. Visitor numbers to Lao Cai fell 3.2 percent in the period, partly because bad weather reduced foot traffic. Overall net revenue from gaming operations rose 51.8 percent to $8.92 million. Slot machine revenue surged 122 percent, helped by the addition of new machines.
