Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte is allegedly planning to fire the head of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for "corruption," The Rappler reports.
Duterte reportedly voiced his intentions to sack CDC boss Noel Manankil during the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board meeting earlier this week, according to sources speaking to Rappler.
The sources said the president only mentioned Manankil's position but did not name him during the meeting. It is understood that Duterte suspects the CDC head of accepting money for certain projects and deals, one source said.
There are also reports of Manankil being close with Chinese gambling tycoon, Jack Lam, who was accused of bribery and “economic sabotage” last year.
