Dynam Japan grows profit 4.2% on lower operating expenses

Dynam Japan Holdings, the nation’s largest pachinko hall operator reported a 4.2 percent increase in net profit for the six months ended Sept 30, 2019.

Said net profit reached JPY8.7 billion, while revenue reached JPY74 billion, up 0.5 percent.

The group operates two types of halls, centered on promoting low playing cost games. In the six month period, the company operated 449 pachinko halls in the country.

177 of these are high playing cost halls, while 272 are low playing cost halls. The company closed one of its high-cost playing halls last year.

One of the reasons for Dynam’s increase in profit was a reduction in hall operating expenses, and other operating expenses.

Dynam said one of its management policies is implementing chain store management across its pachinko halls.

“By reaping benefits of the economies of scale through multi-hall development when purchasing game machines and general prizes, the group will continue to leverage our status as the pachinko industry’s leading company in terms of the number of pachinko halls and steadily accumulated profits over the long term,” said the company.
