EGA opens Dreamworld Poipet on the 28th


 

Entertainment Gaming Asia Inc. (Nasdaq: EGA) is to open its second gaming parlor in Cambodia on March 28 in Poipet along the country's border with Thailand. The Dreamworld Poipet is to feature electronic gambling machine seats for 300 players as an extension to an existing casino. The company said it would open a casino in Kampot on the border with Vietnam later this year with 14 tables and 25 electronic machines. The company operates a casino in Pailin and supplies gambling machines to two other Cambodia casinos  and to slot halls in the Philippines. The company said total revenues rose 34 percent in the fourth quarter to $10.3 million from a year earlier. It reported net income of $268,000, turning around a loss of $1 million a year earlier, despite writing off $226,000 in investment in underperforming gaming machines in the Philippines.
