Eighteen arrested in Malaysia for illegal online gambling


Eighteen people, including six foreigners, were arrested for their alleged involvement in illegal online gambling, according to The Star online.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 45, were detained in simultaneous raids by the Special Task Force for Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism (STAGG) at seven separate locations just after 3.00pm on Monday.

Deputy commander of STAGG, Senior Assistant Commissioner Khairi Ahrasa, said the raiding party moved in at a premise in Metro Prima, Kepong and six locations in South Klang. Sixty-four laptops and computers, five tablets, seven modems, 12 handphones and RM5,039 in cash were seized.
