Emperor Hotel Entertainment profit, revenue down in 2015

Emperor Hotel Entertainment, which operates two hotels in Macau, reported revenue of HK$2 billion for the year ended March 2015, down from HK$2.26 billion in the previous year.

The group’s EBITDA and after non-controlling interests was HK$634.5 million compared with  HK$707 million in 2014, while profit for the year attributable to the owners was HK$504.3 million, almost 100 million less than the year before when profit was HK$600 million.

The Group currently operates two hotels, the 26-storey Grand Emperor Hotel, and Inn Hotel Macau.

GEH has six gaming floors, covering over 130,000 square feet, and offers slot machines as well as gaming tables in the gaming concourse and the VIP room.

The casino in GEH is operated under the gaming licence held by SJM.

During the Year, the group’s gaming revenue was HK$1.7 billion, down from HK$2 billion in 2014.

Revenue from the gaming concourse was HK$1.19 billion from HK$1,56 billion in 2014. The segment accounted for 58.7 percent of the group’s total revenue, compared with 69.3 percent in the previous year.

“The Group’s gaming revenue inevitably declined amid unfavourable market conditions during the Year.”

During the Year, refurbishment of IHM was carried out in phases, with upgrading of room furnishings, exterior walls and public areas. The refurbishment is set to be completed during 2015.
