Environmental group to oppose new casino on Australia’s Gold Coast parkland

Environmental group Save Our Spit said it will fight any plans to build a new casino on open parkland on Queensland’s Gold Coast, after the state government said two new casino licenses will be granted outside the state capital to major resort developers, local media reported. "We've always said the cruise ship terminal is just smoke and mirrors to get those other components of public land," stated a representative.
