First Japan IR Expo in Hokkaido set for Dec.

The first Japan IR Expo in Hokkaido has been scheduled for December 11 and 12, 2019, highlighting continuing interest in Japan’s northernmost prefecture.

The event, organized by Innovent, has strong backing from the business community, including the Tomakomai IR Promotion Council, the Hokkaido Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hokkaido Economic Federation, the Hokkaido Association of Corporate Executives, and the Hokkaido Tourism Organization.

This event, which will be held in Sapporo, is intended to build upon the momentum from the Hokkaido IR Showcase that was held in January of this year, and was also organized by Innovent.

Hokkaido Governor Naomichi Suzuki has not yet made a decision about whether or not he will back an IR bid from the prefecture, and the latest reporting suggests that his decision will not come until early 2020.
