Former classmate of Corpuz to take chairman position

A retired military general is set to fill the position left by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) chairman, Jose Jorge Corpuz, who retired last week.

PCSO general manager Alexander Balutan reportedly revealed this to employees of PCSO in a flag retreat ceremony on Friday.

Sources speaking to The STAR said that Balutan said the likely appointee of the position is a classmate of Corpuz from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Class of 1983.

The information was later confirmed by PCSO deputy spokesman, Florante Solmerin.

“He told the employees that he had raised with Malacañang that there should be no vacuum at the PCSO,” Solmerin said in a phone interview.
