Galaxy sees opportunities in Hengqin, in talks with government

Galaxy Entertainment Group sees great opportunity in China’s Hengqin Island and is in ongoing negotiations with the local government, according to a UBS note. The company is confident it can reach a land title agreement in the foreseeable future. Galaxy would use the land to build a large number of hotel rooms, which would feed their casino properties in Macau. The company believes penetration in China mass demand remains very low, and that the future additions of hotel rooms into the market would help drive those levels higher, UBS said in a takeout from the Greater China Conference.
