Gaming employment increases 0.4 pct


Macau saw its unemployment rate for the period between August to October 2017 at 1.9 percent, a decline of 0.1 percentage points from the previous period (July-September 2017), according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).

Total employment was 379,800, while employed residents totalled 279,900, down by 1,400 and 1,300 respectively from the previous period.

Analysed by industry, employment in Gaming & Junket Activities registered an increase of 0.4 percent to 81,300, making up of 24.7 percent of total employment.

Hotels and similar activities saw 29,600  employees, a decrease of 3.4 percent from the previous period, and making up for 14.1 percent of total employment.
