Gaming related revenues down 34 percent in 2015


Total revenues for enterprises engaged in gaming activities amounted to MOP 233.2 billion ($29.2 billion) in 2015, down 34.1 percent year-on-year, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).

In a statement, the Bureau said that gaming receipts decreased 34.3 percent year-on-year to MOP 231.6 billion, while revenue from food & beverage, currency exchange and interest receipts declined 10.6 percent, 24.6 percent and 32.5 percent respectively.

Total expenditure declined in the year to MOP 101.9 billion, down 32.5 percent year-on-year, said the DSEC.

Last year, Macau’s accumulated casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the full year 2015 fell 34.3 percent compared to 2014, according to data from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau. It was the lowest recorded full-year GGR since 2010.
