Gaming tax revenue down 7.4 percent in Jan-Nov period


Macau raked in a total of MOP 72.8 billion (US$9.1 billion) in gaming taxes in the period from January to November 2016, according to data from the Financial Services Bureau.

The figure is down 7.4 percent year-on-year compared to the same period in 2015.

Meanwhile, total government revenue was down 8.9 percent year-on-year in the period, to a total of MOP 93.6 billion. Gaming taxes contributed to 77.8 percent of total tax revenue.

In related news, analysts are expecting full-year gross gaming revenue to be near MOP 222.8 billion ($28 billion), down 3.5 percent year-on-year.
