Gaming tax revenue up 16.2 pct in January

Gaming tax revenue collected by the Macau SAR government increased by 16.2 percent in January, reaching MOP10.2 billion, local media reports.

The increase comes despite a 5 percent year-on-year decline in gross gaming revenue (GGR), which reached MOP24.9 billion in the month.

Earlier, the Financial Services Bureau (DSF) indicated that it expects to collect around MOP98.2 billion in gaming taxes in 2019, a 13 percent rise from the previous year.
