Gaming taxes fill government coffers, up 17 percent to end-Oct.

The amount collected from direct taxes on gaming in Macau has risen almost 17 percent in the year to end-October to 103 billion patacas (US$12.9 billion), according to government figures. That exceeds projections for the whole year of gaming tax revenue of 94.6 billion patacas. Overall revenue in the first ten months was 125.9 billion, exceeding the estimate for the year of 115 billion patacas.
