Gary Harris to join Favourit as CEO

Favourit, the Australia-based social sports betting business, announced that Gary Harris will join the company as its CEO, as it pursues a potential ASX listing.

Harris previously served as the IT director and a board member of the Sportingbet Australia Group between 2004 and 2013, which was acquired by William Hill Group for more than $600 million in February 2013.

During his tenure at Sportingbet Australia, he oversaw technology development and operations growing online turnover from $10 million to over $2.4 billion, Favourit said in a press release.

“I am delighted to join the Favourit team at this stage of its development as it proves up its highly differentiated social user experience,” said Harris.

Favourit launched its International operations in November 2014 directly into the UK market.

The business is addressing new International markets and a potential ASX listing will provide the business growth capital as it expands operations and marketing initiatives.

Toby Simmons, co-founder and current CEO will become the commercial director leading the development of Favourit’s International market strategy and business development opportunities.
