Genting partners with Hollywood

Genting Group will team up with Hollywood’s Twentieth Century Fox studio to build a M$400 million ($153 million) theme park at its flagship casino resort at Genting Highlands as part of a $1 billion revamp which will also add 1,300 hotel rooms. The current theme park, opened in 1978, will close next month ahead of the revamp. The partners aim to open the new park by 2016 and attract up to six million visitors a year, double the visitor level of the existing theme park. The park will be Fox’s first branded park since closing one in Australia more than a decade ago. Genting’s Singapore casino resort includes a Universal Studios theme park.
