Goa to lose two casinos; Casino vessel to be auctioned

The casino vessel M V Leela, owned by Golden Globe Hotels Pvt Ltd, would be taken over by the state government as an abandoned ship and auctioned by the Goa government if it is not shifted soon from the Mandovi river, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the Legislative Assembly.  The ship’s casino licence has expired, along with one other casino’s in the state, as they have not paid their fees.  "We are not replacing these two casinos. That means the number of casinos in the state would be restricted only to four," Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said.
