Government ally to rally support against foreign casino plans

An ally of Sri Lanka’s ruling party, the Jathika Hela Urumaya, said it will organize a series of island-wide rallies against proposals to allow foreign investment in new casinos in the country, local media reports. The rallies also aim to create awareness among Sri Lankans of the potential harm the casinos could cause. The first rally is slated to be held in Colombo this week.
