Grand Lisboa Palace to apply for 400-500 gaming tables

Casino operator SJM Holdings Ltd is planning to apply for 400-500 gaming tables for its Grand Lisboa Palace, local media reports.

According to Macau Daily Times, the group’s chief executive officer Ambrose So Shu Fai made the comments last Friday on the sidelines of the European Chamber of Commerce gala dinner, adding the operator would file its application when the construction of the project is nearly finished in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Mr. So also declared the new Cotai project will offer 95 percent non-gaming offers, with only five percent of the total area used exclusively for gaming offerings.

However, So remarked the decrease in VIP revenue cannot be offset by the mass market despite mass gaming tables and slots posting slight performance increases.

So also said the gaming industry won’t see a V or U-shaped rebound, but hopes the sector will maintain stable development in the year ahead.
