Ho Tram Open to make its Asian Tour debut

Vietnam’s first integrated casino resort, The Ho Tram Strip, will host the new $1.5 million Asian Tour event later this year at its par-71 Bluffs golf course.

The four-day competition will be televised in 180 countries and aims to put the new 5-star resort on the international map as a luxury destination for both gaming and serious golfers, the organizers said at a press conference to also announce the signing of European Tour winner Robert Rock as the course’s brand ambassador.

“With a prize purse of $1.5 million, the Ho Tram Open will take its place as one of our prestigious championships on our 2015 Schedule and our members are very excited to return to Vietnam, ” said Asian Tour CEO Mike Kerr.

Nguyen Van Hao, general secretary of the Vietnam Golf Association, said the Ho Tram Open will help develop the sport in the country and inspire budding young players.

The Ho Tram Strip, launched in 2013, currently has a casino with more than 500 slots and 90 tables that will host the Asian Poker Tour next month. The resort also has a 541-room tower with a second 559-room tower on track to open this year.
