Hokkaido poll shows sharp rise in opposition to IR development

If a new poll by the Hokkaido Shinbun is to be believed, public opinion in the northernmost prefecture has shifted strongly in opposition to an IR bid.

The new poll shows a combined 72 percent of the respondents against an IR bid from the prefecture, with 42 percent decidedly negative on the concept. This compares to a combined 26 percent in favor, including only 7 percent who are strongly in favor of an IR bid.

These results represent a 17 point shift against the IR bid in just the past three months.
