Ho’s children ramp up squabble for fortune

The children of the late King of Gambling, Stanley Ho, are continuing to fight over his fortune, with his oldest daughter becoming the latest to register an interest in his estate.

The South China Morning Post reports that Angela Ho filed a court notice in Hong Kong with the Probate Registry of the High Court demanding that her solicitors at Fangda Partners be notified before the sealing of her father’s grant, which includes court orders authorising the administration of his estate.

The newspaper notes that the filing comes just two months after Angela Ho publicly distanced herself from a similar filing by his youngest daughter, Deborah.

Ahead of his funeral, his nephew, Michael Hotung, lodged a second caveat on June 12, while Pansy Ho made a filing last Friday.

Ho died in May, leaving 15 surviving children from four different wives. He founded Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, which held the monopoly in the territory for four decades before the market was opened to competition.
