Hotels record 4.8 rise in occupancy in Oct


Macau’s hotels saw occupancy rates increase 4.8 percentage points year-on-year to 88.5 percent in the month of October, according to data from from Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO).

Five-star hotels continued to benefit from its comeback, recording an increase of 6.4 percentage points in occupancy to 92.7 percent for the month.

Three and four star hotels also saw an increase in occupancy, going up 1.2 percentage points and 4.9 percentage points respectively.

Golden Week saw average hotel prices increase, resulting in general hotel room prices increasing 10.1 percent month-on-month in October compared to September.

Year-on-year, room rates dropped 10.2 percent to MOP 1335.4 (US$167) in the month.
