IGT furloughs 2,300 workers


IGT said it was standing down 2,300 workers in North America as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A statement attributed to Robert Vincent, Chairman IGT Global Solutions, said the crisis has had a significant impact on its customers and markets.

“We are taking specific actions to bring our operations in line with customer and player demand. These include base salary reductions for senior leaders and the implementation of short-term furlough programs for certain employee groups.”

He said the furlough is expected to last for 8 weeks from April 6th and that employees will continue to receive health and welfare benefits.
